Exploring Fungi, Together
At the Mid-Yorkshire Fungus Group, we encourage curiosity, learning, and appreciation for the important and interesting world of fungi. Based in Yorkshire, we’re dedicated to exploring and recording fungi across the region.
Founded in 1994, our volunteer-led group welcomes everyone—from seasoned mycologists to complete beginners. We focus on recording fungi, not foraging, and our records contribute to national databases that track species distribution and monitor changes over time. This data is vital for understanding the impacts of habitat loss and climate change.
Members can join regular forays and events, and access our private WhatsApp and Facebook groups to share finds, ask questions, and learn together.
We’re committed to making fungi more visible, valued, and protected for future generations.
