Sending records

We keep all our records on a computer database. For this to work well, we need everyone who sends us records to follow the guidelines below as closely as possible.

Group your records firstly by the site where you found the fungi, and then by the date found. You don't need to sort your records into alphabetic or taxonomic order (eg agaricales etc).

Set out your records in columns in the order shown below. Most efficient from our point of view is a word-processed table: click here to download a blank table in Word format (this is best printed out in landscape format, which you can find in Word as follows: File> Page Setup> Paper Size). If you use a typewriter, please use double spacing if you can and then rule in lines by hand. If neither option is available to you, don't be put off: please still send handwritten records.

Don't use any punctuation  - except dashes if you need to: no commas, full stops, underscores, ditto marks or exclamation marks etc.
