Rustroemia echinophila - Mary Larner
My best fungus of 2007 is chosen for the same rather silly and personal reason as last year's. It isn't rare but not only had I never seen it before in 40 years of foraying, I had never even registered hearing of it. Alan B brought it to an indoor meeting, and 2 days later, walking in Adel Woods, there was loads of it under the only Sweet Chestnut we saw.
