MEETINGS AND FORAYS 2017

News

A new ancillary group, the Craven Section of MYFG , has been inaugurated by Archie McAdam, principally to cater for the needs of members at the western edge of our "territory" (Skipton and beyond), who may find it rather difficult to attend events in the central area (however, it should be emphasized that all MYFG members are welcome to attend events organised by the Craven Section!) The group is still evolving at the moment: details of the first two events are included in the schedule below, and those of others will follow as they become available. All events will take place on the first Wednesday of each month (including December) and will run from 10.00 AM to 12 noon. For further details, please contact Archie on 01756 793359 or helenandarchie@helenandarchie.f9.co.uk

Indoor Meetings

These are held at 7.30 p.m. (though the time may vary slightly) in the Friends' Meeting House in Woodhouse Lane, Leeds (opposite the University, at the junction between St. Mark's Street and Woodhouse Lane - SE293349. There is a car park behind the Meeting House in St. Mark's Street.) Meetings are, when possible, on the first Thursday of the month. Please take note of the dates printed here!

The first indoor meeting of the year will be on 16th March, when we will discuss our finds and forays last year. The following two Spring meetings will be on April 6th and 4th May, which will be the date of our AGM, with refreshments.

There are no indoor meetings in June, July and August.

The first three Autumn meetings are on 21st September, 5th October and 9th November. They will be identification sessions, and these are always enjoyable and an opportunity to learn more. Bring along your finds, guide books and magnifying glasses; there are a few electric points if you want to bring a microscope or computer. It can be helpful to bring an extension lead too.

On 7th December we will have our Midwinter Social. We ask everyone to bring along a small contribution of food or drink (no alcohol, please) and we will discuss our future programme; all suggestions are welcome!
